Blakedale highlights commitment to road safety at Traffex

The latest two additions to the Blakedale fleet are ready and waiting to wow visitors as the biggest event on the traffic management calendar – Traffex – continues at The NEC, Birmingham. The leading supplier of self-drive Traffic Management and Support Vehicles is exhibiting on Stand D63.

Blakedale’s new low-bodied 3.5 tonne Traffic Management Vehicle, which the industry has been helping them to name, is having its first official outing. Designed in collaboration with leading traffic management companies, the new vehicle offers the ideal solution for the deployment of cones, signage and traffic lights in the inner city as well as rural environments.

With a low bed height of just 530mm, this new vehicle allows operators to step on and off the working area quickly and safely and removes the need for cone wells.

Carmen Bowley, Joint Managing Director of Blakedale, explains: “Our new low-bodied vehicle offers a compact solution for coning off areas in environments where space and using much larger vehicles can be a challenge.”

A further vehicle attracting attention at Traffex is Blakedale’s latest high roof Iveco 18 tonne Traffic Management Vehicle complete with Red X Convoy light arrow board, 70mph Blade Crash Cushion and recordable camera system with live tracking and air suspension.

Blakedale are also displaying a Crash Cushion that has been damaged in a road traffic accident to highlight just why they are so important. This Crash Cushion fulfilled its purpose of absorbing the impact energyand providing vital, life-saving protection to all those involved.

Visitors to Traffex are invited to take a tour of the new vehicles on stand D63 where the Blakedale team are on hand to discuss hire, sale and servicing options.
